Perhaps I live in a bubble of pessimism, but — isn’t the looming collapse of civilization well-known, and essentially a certainty?

It is folly to cover Scalise — or most republicans — in this way, as if what they’re doing is normal.

Then it has to be better.

Everywhere I go I’m usually the oldest person in the room, and I’ve been hearing that line since long before I’d ever heard of Donald Trump.

Always, the left has to support whatever bland middle-of-the-road candidate the Democrats put forward, candidates who seem idea-free and utterly without passion, because the Republicans have a terrifying candidate. Gotta take boring over terrifying.

And Bernie’s right. I ain’t arguing.

Sure is a bucket of swill we’re always forced to drink from, though.

If that’s true, mega congratulations. I don’t know much about the way things are in the UK.

If someone said that about my U S of A, though, I’d chuckle.

How utterly ordinary and predictable. The only thing unusual is, such deals usually don’t make headlines.

This is why we’re doomed.

He’s never made a mistake in his life, never broken a law, never lost money unless someone else was a crook, never been outsmarted because he’s the smartest human ever, never touched a woman who didn’t want his touch because he’s the sexiest man alive, and never lost an election unless it was stolen from him.

How could he lose an election, when no-one anywhere would vote against him, because he’s Donald Trump.
