It’s not about the cost of development. It’s about quality of the experience. For indie devs, the game has to be good to do well. For a lot of AAA studios, the game is merely a product that only has to be as entertaining as it needs to be for them to make enough profit.
When you’ve been destitute your entire adult life, it feels good to finally be caught up on everything for a moment and be able to breathe a little. For most people, the hardest part of building that nest egg to handle a financial hiccup is simply making enough money to even save anything.
I’ve played with randoms many times. Most people have been good to play with. I highly recommend it.
Considering I’ve been playing HD2 all year and I’m still loving it, my vote is for HD2. They did a fantastic job on the recent balance overhaul (dubbed “the great Buffening”).
Without Steam Input support, you basically need something to emulate the controller as an Xbox 360 controller.

I think that perceived smoothness from 40 fps comes from the LCD screen they chose, and using a controller. Docking the deck to a monitor and using a mouse makes it much more noticeable; but running games at 720p makes it much easier to hit 60 fps.
That’s an instant uninstall for me
