Universal basic income would be a huge way to facilitate this. When we have a bit of a safety net, we can afford to take a few weeks off for a general strike. We can leave that evil corporate job, or educate ourselves on issues that need our attention. Studies have shown that with a little more time each week, people tend to invest more in the community or mutual aid. Not to mention, we could compel billionaires to join and facilitate the greatest redistribution of wealth in history. There’s a foundation (ITSA) attempting to start it’s own UBI via an app I recently joined. DM me if you want the link :)

1·1 month agoPerfect timing. I just started donating to a new startup (comingle) that seems as promising as Wikipedia once was. Nonprofit whose goal is to start their own universal basic income for users who don’t want to wait for the government to start one. Now I can cancel my Wikipedia donations and not feel so bad

3·2 months agoTry reading the book, “Stolen Focus.” That helped me A LOT. At the time, my attention span was so sapped I couldn’t even read a book so I actually had to listen to it as an audio book. Lucky it’s a very good audio book because the author’s got a good speaking voice
This is why in many native cultures they stay away from being sarcastic. They’ve learned that it can be harmful to a society and they have the empathy to not want to make certain people who are out of the loop feel dumb
I wonder if he’s actually showing them something else… 10x better than any truffle. Something marvelous, of which they are unaware the importance since they are not cats

5·4 months agoOf course that’s how they sell the idea initially. But we would be fools to think they aren’t planning on jacking up cost in a couple years to boost profits and expand surveillance to be sold to the highest bidder (fascists). History tells us that information will be used against their political opponents. Imagine how easy it’s going to be to target protestors and immigrants with a camera on every intersection
