Biggest change we can make to the whole model is making it non-profit. Hospitals should be patient first in all instances. That is probably the biggest hurdle to clear and then a bunch of the other issues you mentioned will actually be easier to solve. Right now there is too much private equity involved with insurance, hospitals and medical care in general. The costs associated with medical care are outrageous and also need to be addressed.

The CIA wants this type of activity so that the regimes in Central and South America are habitually weakened and always in need of some form of welfare from the USA. Like I know it sounds crackpot and tinfoil hat quality to say this stuff but the last 60 years basically prove it to be so. Any form of advancement that occurs within these countries has an almost direct economic impact to the USA where the cost of things goes up as the quality of living goes up in these countries. The obsession boring people have with thinking that someone is going to hack their webcam and record some sort of salacious content of them is astoundingly broad. To the point that very mundane people have web cam covers for their laptops or the little piece of post-it note taped over.
