Oh. This is their vision quest optional ad thing. Not that its great but these exist on desktop already, and can be completely disabled in settings. This post just now reminded me that they made that, I turned it off and completely forgot.
They also say that the option to disable it will exist on mobile too. Its shitty that there are ads at all but this is about the least offensive option I’ve ever seen. Can’t promise it won’t creep out and get worse later but yeah.
The term server used to refer to a computer, running something like a web page. People connect to that specific server.
In discord, a server is just a name for a community, a label for your group. You can change channels, add new voice chats, change the icon, set up rules, bots to enforce rules, roles, pings for those roles, etc.
But at the end of the day those files are stored with discord, on discord’s “servers” as in traditional server infrastructure. If discord decides all servers must serve a number of “sponsored posts” in general chat, for instance, you can’t just not comply. Your server is part of their infrastructure. They can do what they want when they want. If discord decides to go paid only, you can’t keep your server free, as another example. You cannot self host the actual files or software that makes up your discord server.
Most of the time, 60. But it depends.
Competitive FPS/action games I want 120, story games with FPS 60, anything turn based or slow paced is probably fine at 30 or 40. It also depends on a lot of other factors. On my handheld (steam deck like) I aim for 30 or 40, but my main PC always shoots for 60 or higher.
That and I usually tune my settings so I get a bit more than 60, then lock the framerate to reduce stutter.

You should have the right to believe and worship whatever you want, but this attitude of “oh if the world ends it’s God’s plan” is so fucking shitty. Maybe try to fix the world and work with what we have instead of putting all your eggs in the basket of “at least we have heaven after”. That’s fair, I definitely jumped to the “they wanna take away fireworks” conspiracy on my end, too much arguing on the Internet for me this week >.<
I do hope they look into it. I just know how freaked out my pets have been in the past, inconsolable at times, so the fireworks being a real factor wouldn’t surprise me. I’d hope they would have meds to help calm the animals, but I wonder if they were too young for them, or had a dosage issue.
I had a whole thing earlier but was mistaken, the baby was 3 months old not a newborn. Either way, I still don’t doubt that fireworks could easily stress out a very young animal and be the tipping point of their health.
I’m not sure what could motivate them to make a grand conspiracy against fireworks, rather than the more likely result of them being exhausted and frustrated caretakers who, like any pet owner, probably spent that evening trying to calm the panda down only to watch it panic until it died. Stress vomiting isn’t really rare for animals on the 4th of July. It’s just the extreme end of stress.

I’ve really liked my time with Signalis. It does some neat stuff with it switching between the top down sections and first person puzzles/segments.
It has a VR version and I’m pretty sure if I tried it I’d run into a wall in a panic a few times at least.

Your character doesn’t speak per say, so you usually are limited to gestures for interacting with other players.
The stone refers to a series of items thatve been around since dark souls 1 where you drop a magic stone and a voice comes out saying the line. In dark souls 1 and some others it was a rock you dropped and it broke open making sound, so the “stone” term stuck.
In elden ring it’s called a “prattling pate: ‘voice line here’”. Your character blows into it like a flute kinda and the line is spoken.

I found that article really informative, TLDR: a lot of water is recycled and recirculated yes but not all. Also they sometimes evaporate water for cooling, and eventually the water does need replaced. I think the concerns were mostly scale and water increasing in conductivity over time.
