  • While I can appreciate that, starlink is going to keep launching them even if we don’t use it in Canada. Saying cut starlink out is fine and all but there are lots of places and communities without any decent broadband options at all (in Canada and beyond).

If your in an area getting decent cable or fiber as an option then your comments really don’t require any level of sacrifice from you.

Would you commit to the comment to prevent starlink from additional satellites if it meant a general tax increase for everyone resulting in you personally paying an extra of $200/year to accomodate fiber buildout and maintenance?

  • I would like to see a tax on third properties and above that sit vacant for more than 6 months a year then 10% of the property value as a fine which would go to a ministry supporting unhoused people.

There would probably have to be some provision that if the property is rented out then for tax purposes the rent must be considered at the market rate -15% at the time the agreement was made. Eg a corpo couldn’t rent a bunch of units to a subsidiarity and call them occupied since they are rented arrive they would have to pay income tax on the income.

  • So it doesn’t affect me at all but may I ask why you wouldn’t decide to vote for an independent, or the republican party.

Really you should vote for whomever most closely aligns with your governing preferences. Ultimately if you dislike the platform of every party, then it should be a decision about which most closely aligns with what you’re looking for.

If you were deciding what to eat it doesn’t really matter if you don’t like the options, eventually you have to choose something or someone else will choose for you.

Again I’m not endorsing any party or platform, I don’t care about how you choose to cast your vote. I just think that everyone should vote, even if it doesn’t align with my preferences or voting choices, which again I’m not saying I endorse any party specifically.
