  • Yeah 96% is great for me. I work in commercial credit analysis and I’m constantly typing numbers (account numbers/financial information/etc) so not having a number pad would suck. I work from home like 75% of the time and my work space is shared with my personal computing space. I have 1 keyboard that’s Bluetooth so I can swap between my personal desktop, personal laptop, and my work laptop. Same with my mouse. Sometimes I do think about getting a smaller keyboard and adding a separate numpad that can tuck out of the way when I’m not working as I don’t use it much for personal computing.

  • I mean, there’s already apps that are good that were created by reddit app developers. E.g. Boost for Lemmy. The problem isn’t the apps, it’s the availability of content and people. The /r/orioles on reddit has 85,163 subscribers. 110 people on the page right now. /c/Baltimore_Orioles here has 150 subscribers and no posts in 4 months which was a bot posted game thread with 0 comments on it. The problem is meaningful content and people to interact with, not the UI. There’s no reason to join if you want to talk sports because there’s no on to talk sports with. I’m not going to sit in game threads by myself and post my thoughts to no one.

  • The tough part for me is that the reason I use Reddit is for bullshitting with people about sports teams I like. Lets look at some of the communities here.

    • Baltimore Orioles – There’s one on lemmy.world with 150 subscribers. The last post is from 4 months ago and it’s a game thread posted by a bot with 0 comments. There’s also one on fanaticus.social with the last post from 7 months ago.
    • Carolina Panthers – There’s one on fanaticus.social with 3 subscribers.
    • Miami Heat – There’s one on lemmy.world with 10 subscribers.
    • Pittsburgh Penguins – Again, lemmy.world with 11 subscribers.

I’d love to get off reddit but until there’s actually people to talk with, this place is just never going to meet the needs of sports content that I use Reddit for. I had no interest in Bluesky until some people actually got on it as well. The Shutdown Fullcast for college football brought a bunch of people and fans there so it gave some utility to the site. Without utility, there’s no reason to be here.

Waterproofing is very difficult with a headphone jack

Something I have heard in the past but is a headphone jack that much harder to waterproof vs a USB-C port? I’m genuinely curious because I don’t know. It feels like the two would be of a similar difficulty.

The biggest pro for me is the vertical tabs. It’s got the same vertical tabs that Edge has which are great. I only use Edge at work but it’s great especially when you have a web based production environment like nCino that you work in all day and have dozens of tabs open. You can group them up nicely and keep yourself organized. Floorp is based off of Firefox ESR so it’s on an older build (but up to date security). The current build is based off FF 115 while FF is on 129 now.

  • Because they’ve set up a false quandry. They’re setting it up as a three option problem with no other options.

    a. Use a Windows desktop to game because they prefer mouse and keyboard unless Steam comes out with a desktop. b. Use a Steam Deck with mouse and keyboard but it has alleged poor support for that and isn’t viable (I’m saying alleged because I’ve never used a Steam Deck though my son has one). c. Use SteamOS and hope it has better keyboard and mouse support than the OS on the Steam Deck.

Those aren’t your only options. You could also.

    d. Use pretty much any other Linux based distribution on a desktop and install the Steam app on it. Why would you need a Steam based OS? Clearly they don’t have a problem running Steam as an app in Windows, why not do the same on Linux?

They also employees who will clean up feces that are in the aisle but that doesn’t mean you should take a shit on the floor in the produce section.

Leaving carts in the spaces blocks access to spaces, leaves carts that can be blown into parked spaces, and causes extra work for employees. Just walk your cart back. Spoiler: if you don’t want to walk far, just park next to the cart return. It’s not that hard.
