Moving to GrapheneOS doesn’t have to be full bore. While it obviously wouldn’t be as private, you could run google services sandboxed. That restricts google quite a bit rather than giving it full rights to everything on your phone. Other features you can take advantage of are granular permissions per app and the ability to easily turn things on and off (such as mic, camera, location), restrictions to contacts, restriction to files/folders, etc… Youd be amazed how much you can clean up your exposure even with google services running. But yes, you’d need to give up using google apps like calendar for any of it to do any good.

Absolutely this. I like mint because I no longer like fiddle farting around with my PC. It just works out of the box. An overlooked bonus is when I need to learn how to do something the Mint forums usually have the answer, and its catered to Mint defaults. It’s not the end of the world, but when answers match your file explorer, text editor, system editor etc…it just makes it easier. Compared to finding answers elsewhere that are for Debian and then having to wonder if it’ll work or not based on the family lineage of the OS is just unnecessary for most people.

I love animals. Dogs, cats, rabbits, whatever. Love them all. I’m highly allergic to most of them though.

As a customer of an establishment, why do I need to deal with the animal that belongs to another customer of the establishment? And I’m not being a jerk. I’m not complaining or making a fuss, but if I’m trying to buy toilet paper I shouldn’t need to worry about hair, dander, or if somebody’s dog is well behaved or not. I am the one being inconvenienced, and there doesn’t seem to be a good reason for it.

That goes to the point of the comment you replied to. And to your point, if nobody else is being bothered… Are they checking if others are being bothered? Usually not. That’s a generalization but I can say in my experience it’s true more often than not (and I notice when it is). I’m not saying to ban pets in stores, but it should not be the norm and expect others to just deal with it.

Seriously though, Skype is a good example of how MS butchers products. I mean, I never loved Skype but it worked and was the defacto video calling platform of the masses. If they had their shit together, even a little bit, then Zoom would never have taken the market. I don’t really like zoom either, but its better than Skype.

But that begs the question, assuming the entire plane was full then the lady was sitting next to at least one other person. They moved her from that seat to be in next to the couple in question. So it seems to me there is no situation where it’s not extremely messed up.

Absolutely. And particularly it was is “batches” especially as you get to Shadow.

Collecting stuff as you go along playing is fine (I mean, I’d argue not because it’s lazy game making but its normal). But going along and hitting a village that has 50 side quests in it just interrupts flow.

Plus, they made nested fetch quests so I felt trapped in a loop. OK I’ll just do this one quest…“hey, now that I see that you are good at fetching arbitrary items, I want you to go get this for me too”

But I also don’t think in terms of left and right (though its hard to get away from the terms so widely used). For instance, most people tend to describe the difference in terms of money and profit (capitalism). I look at control and freedom. I don’t want governments controlling what we see, hear, and say. I want us all to control our own lives. Lemmy/Fedi is completely supportive of that concept.

They are very much in sync. Even though each game and story is independent, characters have history and the games are part of that.

That’s fair. I just figured when they introduced the characters and world building and I didn’t find most of it interesting, then the following would be similar.

If the best description of something can only be broken down to “reddit liked it” then either the person doesn’t know how to describe anything, or that’s an accurate description in itself.

I watched the first episode and found it not interesting. Certain things were good and others bad, but I just didn’t care and was waiting for it to end.

Apparently I’m in the minority as fans seem to flock to defend it. To each their own.
