  • Been running F44 Cosmic Atomic for months. Did have one show stopper (for me) bug, so rebased to Silverblue for a bit, then back again after resolved

But overall its been fantastic. Snappy, Kind of minimal, and honestly quite beautiful (for my personal zen, YMMV)

I do like the pace they are fixing items & introducing new features

Migrated to Keepass shortly before the price increase ( not because of it) just for the reason of wanting my vault fully offline. Seeing these changes at BW still makes me sad, was a long time paying user & truly enjoyed it

Keepass is fantastiic, my vault is pretty static so just manually copy to other device as needed. And of course, have your full backup plan in place as with all things

  • I use both same products, just manually copy to phone periodic as my vault is pretty static

Made the move from bitwarden not that long ago, actually a bit before their price increase (just timing not because of it). Nothing bad about BW to say, it worked great for me for years.

My motivation was wanting my password manager fully offline.

Keepass are fantastic programs, and actually now more pleased with my move after seeing some negative moves from BW I needn’t be concerned with

    +1 for Keepass!

  • The e/os Advanced Privacy feature is very nice, great way to see which apps have tracker whilst blocking them. Same as running DNS filters but built in experience, easy to view

In itself LOS is fantastic but needs be combined with something like reThinkDNS or another DNS filtering option

Rethink on LOS is fantastic, in particular if you can do the whitelist method - block everything by default, and permit only that which you approve. Takes some time & effort but great control is the reward

I prefer layers, example LOS w/rethink DNS all going thru Control D or NextDNS with Hagezi lists enabled

Overkill? Perhaps , but I love the reporting , helps in learning what’s going on, and apps/sites to be avoided

  • Sure is. And if you ain’t surfing nasty sites, loading ‘free’ VPN spyware, crap AI dung & scammy apps it’s all good

Android OS is a very secure OS. Google recently moved their older devices to quarterly updates versus monthly. Are we now saying those older pixels (still in support life) are insecure because they could go 3 months w/o an update? In itself that move is telling & obliterates the marketing scare tactics used by some & some projects. It’s sad really.

Common sense and good online habits will take you further than all else

This is honeslty a shameful post. A personal rant with just a nasty agenda

People or projects attacking other privacy focused projects working on good faith intent to help us escape the duopoly are just sad. If a project doesn’t fit your personal needs, so be it, move on

As a whole we need as many of these projects to succeed & elevate as possible. Shooting at others because you got your feelings hurt elsewhere is childish and self-defeating for all. Last thing we need is creating a monopoly of privacy focused options
