There should be a rule that you can’t deport the legal guardian of a US citizen for that matter. All I’m saying is that they have an excuse for deporting them, even if it’s a bad one. I don’t understand the excuse for this case. Is there any?
These were all minors of deported parents no? At least there’s a bad reason for it.
This makes residency permits completely worthless. Greencard holders other visa holders can all just be randomly detained when traveling.

US immigration was unreasonably harsh and unforgiving before, but paired with the possibility to send people to a concentration camp without due process makes this fact a lot more scary. Yeah, they could get you in serious trouble for minor mistakes, but they couldn’t ruin or even take your life that easily before.

It was so silly when the immigration officer asked me (at the origin, not the destination because they want to avoid to fly you back): “And what if John won’t be there to pick you up at the airport?” Me: “I don’t know man, take an Uber?”
This was when I was backpacking in Europe. These days it would stress me out too.
At least they learnt to not sign some shit the immigration officer wrote down on a whim. I guess everyone needs to learn that immigration officers can be hostile.
Yeah wtf… I even traveled to countries where I had no place for the night, but knew I would get one spontaneously. Not great in certain countries, and you gotta know that, but 5 weeks?
I can really recommend the mini series Adolesence on Netflix (or wherever) to get a great, dramatized example of how this effect looks like.
And also educating themselves. The kids will learn stuff, including slang, memes and concepts that are unknown to parents that don’t spend as much time on these platforms. So they won’t even recognize problematic ideas.

Isn’t this just India posturing because of the Kashmir attack? The first threat about cutting off water was an empty one so now they are floating some military strike just to appear thst they care? I may eat my words here, but neither party is going to risk a full on war with an enemy with nukes over a place like Kashmir.
