True.
But one thing you control, the other you don’t.
It’s why you hire someone else to do it, like a network consultancy.
Yep.
But I admit I’m one of them, though I also recognize it’s not an easy thing to do well. Whenever something like this comes up for a vote in my area, it really takes me a while to figure out the pros/cons, long-term implications, who benefits, etc.
Immodium/Limodil is your friend.
My grandmother said the same when I showed her a Motorola Droid in 2009. She said “that’s a pocket computer”.
Plus the final mile from the rail to destination.
It’s as if any play is for a given audience, and we have to bridge the gap with our own imagination. Crazy, right? 😆
Mind, I’m not criticizing your point, I agree with it, Hollywood has never been great with accents, it just has to be “good enough”, like watching a stage play and the props have to be “good enough”.
He stole it from Highlander!
I’m not sure I follow? His character is Egyptian, he was immortal. Though I take OP’s point, he couldn’t really be Scottish since he had been alive long before Scotland existed, possibly before the Picts even.
I recently switched my cell service to JMP.chat, which pipes your SMS into XMPP (it’s brilliant, SMS is no longer tied to a physical device or SIM). I still get spam sms, but it’s far less an issue.
Plus I can pop any Sim into my phone and it has no affect on my phone number that’s with JMP. That all remains in XMPP, and the new SIM would just provide a different data connection (and it’s own number with its own voice and SMS).
Have you ever used Yet Another Call Blocker?
I’m curious how it compares to Carrion (I’m not sure they’re directly comparable, looks like Carrion does a little more than YACB).
I’ve used YACB for years, just to keep my phone from ringing for unknown calls, and only allow contacts to ring through.
There’s still Lineage (which is what DivestOS is based on), and Graphene for Pixel.
I’m currently running DivestOS on a 2017 flagship, it’s really good there (I also run it on some Pixels).
I’m really hoping someone (preferably a team) will pickup DivestOS. Makes me wish I had the leadership skills to pull a team together.
You can use the GPS, but it really depends on the phone/maps, etc. I don’t want OP to assume “it’ll just work like normal”.
I’ve used every mapping app there is on every phone since 2009, and it’s still not a great experience. It still has battery concerns. I know I can make it work, but I don’t want to assume what OP knows, and to give a warning that it’s not like using mapping around town.
Too many people go out in the west without understanding how dangerous it can be - the stories are in the news every year.
Wow, nice pic!
The Atacama, talk about dry! I’m surprised you don’t need more water, since it’s one of the driest places on the planet.
Part of the issue in the US west/southwest is the heat - you’ll sweat a lot, and the low humidity means it will evaporate fast. Long sleeves/pants help control this.
Then the sun load (which you experience in the Atacama) will heat you up fast. There can be a 20° temp change from shade to sun (if you can find shade).
I read the stories every year of inexperienced hikers going out in the west with 1 or 2 liters of water (or less!) in shorts, getting miles out and then needing to be rescued (or dying). One thing I’ve never heard anyone say is “I took too much water”.
My concern in this thread is for an inexperienced hiker. I really want them to understand how difficult the west/southwest can be.
Get the Universal Android Debloat Utility, it’s pretty good at letting you know what can be disabled.
How was the study done? Is there an angle where girls are more likely to admit this/click on a button than boys? (Yes, studies should account for this kind of thing, but we know what “should” means).
Interesting either way.
