  • I gave up sim racing online after a crash and seeing the other players replay of the crash. I didn’t think I was at fault but because of the lag, I totally was.

My ping from Australia to Europe was just too much in order to ensure others could have a safe race. When everyone else has 20-40 ping and I’m racing with 150+ it’s just too much lag to be safe on the track

Except self checkout isn’t faster. The professionals that check you out do this every day, they’re way faster than me.

Not to mention 100% of the time I use self checkout, the machine doesn’t realize I’ve put something in the bagging area and I need a staff member to sort out the broken machine, but because there’s 1 staff member doing this for a dozen machines, they’re constantly busy sorting out these broken machines so you often have to wait minutes for them to fix it.

  • Another hole can carry analogue audio? I think you’re referring to a USB port when you say “another hole can do the same job”, but obviously it can’t carry analogue audio. You need an external DAC to convert the digital audio it can output, to analogue. (The phone already has an internal DAC so this is dumb)

And then of course you run into the issue of being unable to use it while the phone is charging because you have 1 port for 2 different jobs

Not all of us like the idea of wireless earphones, there are still many who prefer to spend good money on nice IEMs or headphones that don’t have to be charged to work, rather than overly expensive, subpar wireless options that will inevitably turn into e-waste when the batteries can no longer hold a charge.

Not to mention the ubiquity of the 6.5mm/3.5mm jack, this is standard across every piece of music gear you can think of from synthesizers to electronic drum kits to guitars, pedals, and interfaces.

You certainly don’t walk into a recording studio and find USB C ports to plug into

Cool! Now maybe put yourself in someone else’s shoes. Someone who doesn’t want to pay an extra $500 for $30 worth of extra storage.

Or someone’s shoes who use their phone for a lot of recording, so maybe they need a terabyte, or more. And those phones don’t exist.

Or someone’s shoes who are offline for weeks at a time and want to load their phone up with movies or tv shows to watch.

Or someone’s who doesn’t use music streaming services so wants to keep all their music on their phone.

There are many cases in which sd cards are useful or even necessary, so try not to think your use case is universal. It comes across as ignorant

  • Honestly anyone asking you what you bring to the table in a relationship is not worth your time.

It should be obvious what you bring to the table, your good looks, your incredible personality, your humour, the way you present yourself.

If they can’t see it for themselves, that’s their loss.

Don’t take it personally, not everyone needs to be a good fit for everyone else, but if they don’t know what you bring to the table, that’s a failure on their part to recognise you, not any problem with you.

Adapters are a cop out. Just put the adapters in the phone. It also means you can’t charge and listen to music.

Also while there are some natively wired usb-c headphones, I can’t think of any. Any decent headphones will use a standard 3.5 or 6.5mm audio jack, and then the dac being built inwith those usb-c headphones means you can’t use a seperate dac, it means you can’t plug them into studio gear. It’s just so incredibly limiting.

There is already a universal standard (3.5mm/6.5mm jack) it carries analog audio, why change to a digital connection which requires digital to analog conversion? Why not let the user be able to have a dedicated piece of gear to do that if they wish.

No professional equipment, or even semi professional equipment uses usb-c. It’s a good old fashioned analog audio jack and it’s like that for a reason
