I’m new to this language but isn’t an electrooptical sensor just a camera? that would make it a receive-only, passive system like radar, and not detectable. technically still using the electromagnetic spectrum though.

It’s illegal in only some of the US states. this is actually something that Tesla is good about. no dealerships. but it makes buying their cars a little different in those jurisdictions.
