I like to ask a variety of questions, sometimes silly, serious, and/or strange. Never asking in an attempt to pester or “just asking questions” stuff.
I’m generally curious and/or trying to get a sense of people’s views.
Thanks for the heads up! I’ve not played paintball so I didn’t know what kinda paint the standard stuff was using, and was mostly thinking about a way to minimize any clean up involved.
Kinda contrary to some of the fun of the game, but everyone likes to play differently.
Thanks for the link, and clear paint didn’t occur to me, so that may be a good option too!

Ooh, so like bra cups, or…?
you forgot to reinforce the seats again?!
That’s good to know, thanks!
I’ll have to look into bioreactors more. I’m also not sure about that last sentence, but then it sounds like maybe they don’t know what’s up either (or how to communicate it).
Interesting, thanks! I vaguely knew of tree farms, but more for like decorative trees or fruit trees than general purpose ones.
With the OP I was thinking even a monoculture tree farm may be preferable if it reduces destruction of natural, biodiverse forests and allows them to recover where not completely destroyed.
is this rule or rule?
it’s rule, search XXVIII: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/45109/45109-h/45109-h.htm
Mentioning @Diddlydee@feddit.uk here to address you both in your similar corrections rather than duplicate my reply: I stand corrected.
I see that I had misconstrued my personal misgivings with the penalties of failing to pay with a lack of legal ownership.
It still feels off, precarious, to describe it as ownership to me, but I recognize what you’re both saying regarding the legal standing of it all.
Own as in mortgages/loans paid off, I take it? That’s the slight distinction I’m thinking of with expensive items that typically can’t be bought outright. It’s not wholly owned until mortgage/loan is paid off, which you kinda nod towards with your last sentence.
In the vein of houses and cars, yeah. I should get in a better habit of elaborating on ambiguous terms in the body, only haven’t as I’ve mixed experience with people skipping over those.
How does one account for maintenance costs with this view? Even barring taxes, you may have to pay for upkeep either in materials or contracting out services to assist in maintenance.
Thanks for this info! I was unaware of this given how rarely it’s mentioned.
Thanks to you & @Brokkr@lemmy.world for your replies. Not sure why but this curiosity was lingering in mind so I thought I’d put the question out there in case there might be some really unique example of such an organism.
I guess it’d have to be a very unique environment to drive such an adaptation, which would be fascinating in itself.
You’ve understood it right! I wasn’t thinking of invertebrates as I was really curious if there might be something strange in-between, but given the other replies here mentioning the same, I think invertebrates may be the closest known of currently.
You might try cross-posting to !ask_experienced_devs@programming.dev for more advice.
Sort of like you see in cartoons, a terrestrial animal that could be “squished” without breaking any bones and goes back to their non-squished state. It’s something I think is more observable in aquatic life, like say octopuses that can squeeze themselves into small spaces.

Err, has something changed or isn’t Radio Free Asia still a somewhat questionable source?
