waiter! waiter! more proxy wars please!!
He died, but his particles will live forever
US is so cooked, people there think that DEI is super radical communism, while in reality it’s nothing more than some liberal program
I think this short essay was the first thing that appeared in monthly review
lol
Few years later we will be seeing Mélenchon crown himself as an emperor
I think what’s more fitting for her is an account that promotes uyghur genocide news, as in the show she protests in favor of “Free TIbet”. But she would definitely be a very annoying lib too. In one episode she literally becomes a Hillary-like female president to show how PROGRESSIVE murica has become
Tbh what I hate in Simpsons is that Lisa is shown as a very progressive person, while she is just a chauvinistic liberal lol
Happy new year
Tbh to me the most common “western socialists” beliefs are:
The butcher of Indonesia
Why even annex a part of Sicily? Is there even anything they could get from it?
The funniest thing is that right-wingers in Poland usually use contradictory narratives to push their narrative of “communism bad, capitalism good”. Poland wants to be considered western, but at the same time it always blames the west (especially Germany for partitions and nazi occupation, and allies for “betrayal”) for its shortcomings. The Germans are also blamed for “controlling” liberal political parties, while conservatives also usually implement reforms that allow for lower taxes for western corporations and privileged treatment in special economic zones that benefit Germany. Poles know that their economy is almost totally dependent on the EU, but somehow they always want to make it seem like that the economy is a “miracle” compared to PPR. Polish political discourse is also filled with absolutely insane russophobia and orientalism, to the point where General Staff of the Polish Army, for example, shows this nonsense on their twitter account. Poland weaponizes its “victimhood” to force anti-russian and anti-communist narratives, but at the same time it wants to be like the countries that abused Poland.
I think I’ve seen a Twitter post about new Syria’s government abandoning “state-led development” and turning to neoliberalism. If that’s the case then they’re absolutely fucked
In my country the school’s history book cites Solzhenitsyn’s estimate of 66 million dead in the gulag. We also had to learn by heart the theories of Arendt and Orwell.
All the books that we were required to read said that “Revolution bad, reform good” or “The world is literally worse after the revolution”, it’s a joke
My friend worked for human rights group or some other organization as volunteer. He had to hand out leaflets (I think?) and got fired pretty fast. Hopefully your experience will be much different
