Even viewing posts from other instances through Hexbear (for instance https://hexbear.net/post/2105999) will have the downvote button disabled. On the flipside downvoting Hexbear posts from other instances does nothing, we don’t see nor count downvotes. So if a comment gets hit by libs and sits at 10 upvotes 50 downvotes, we would just see that as +10.
Is it not possible for hexbears to downvote on federated servers? I knew it was disabled on local comms.

We actually can be down voted and it affects how our posts are ranked on other instances, it’s just that we can’t see the downvotes on our end
