Rodents attract foxes, coyotes, snakes, and birds of prey. All of which are parts of a healthy ecosystem. Additionally, some rodents are beneficial to the local environment.
I think ticks are the biggest worry, but I’m my eyes, they’re just mosquitos that can’t fly.
Some types of grasses can be deadly to animals such as dogs. I’m looking you foxtails. I’m all about replacing lawns where it makes sense, but often neglect leads to burdening others.
