I’ve seen a Twilight Zone episode like that. Woman is coming out of surgery and her entire head is wrapped in bandages, and when they take them off it reveals a beautiful human… To the horror of the other people in the room who are hideous aliens!

Probably my favorite episode of all time! I remember watching it the first time as a tween and thinking it was the most original piece of art I had ever seen

Oh, this looks really cool! I remember seeing a short video with similar premise by Tom Scott and it fascinated me

I’ve heard watership down described as dramatic irony cosmic horror, since it’s cosmic horror from the view of the characters, but the reader perfectly understands everything.

Some of these are definitely closer than others, but it’s a place to start.

Anyone know if we have a version of humansarespaceorcs on Lemmy yet? Some of the content there leaned into “humans are weird monsters” sometimes too.

Wait, what if there is an octopus subculture that find joints arousing and creates weird limbs porn?

They’ll probably also resort to jerking off to octopus video game characters with exaggerated but wrong anatomies too.

One reason we hate spiders is due to the way they move: limited range hydraulics
