Recently read a Reddit thread where people reminisced about the day he won the election and how happy they were. Nobody seemed to remember that what followed was eight more years of economic depression, more investment in fossil fuels, an escalation of the wars in the Middle East including countless drone atrocities, and the eventual rise and election of Donald Trump. They just recalled being happy a Black guy won and that seemed to be enough for them.
He had all the proper liberal aesthetics of a President at least, like from The West Wing. He tried to compromise all the time, he had good pictures and a nice family and talked well, he always seemed like he was trying his best for the country and doing it “the right way” even when it didn’t work out, because of those pesky Republicans.
Unfortunately he’s still very popular with libs. I’m not sure I understand why, since he did nothing but lie to, and gaslight them.
