I’m not an expert on organ procurements, but I’ve supported a few of them, and the criteria for actually doing it is strict as fuck. Patient needs to be completely and verifiably brain dead before they can proceed. Like, so much as an eye flicker in response to the name bring called out is enough to get one of these cancelled.
Yeah if that’s actually legit, that’s fucking terrifying. That’s like prison time for the entire team level of not okay.
The problem wasn’t that they were doing that, but they failed to pay the $5M/mo Truth Organ Transplant membership fee that would allow them to harvest the organs of living people. The membership fee gives them a gold painted license card and a long list of potential donors who are registered as Democrats.
Not going to lie it made me unregister as an organ donor.
Its really sad because I do want to help people but when you have this much corruption out in the open it just isn’t worth the risk anymore.
Also man I wish I still had the hope in everything to think these people will go to prison.

I can’t read the entire article because it is paywalled, but it says that this group did it to dozens of patients. There are about 50,000 organ transplants each year. I urge you to think about the lives that can be saved from organ donation. I wish you a long happy life
You know that pointing out that this is saying dozens of live people were murdered by being sliced open and having their organs taken out while they were still using them might not be the best way to begin if two sentences later you’re going to urge people to consider how many lives can be saved by us all signing up to be organ donors. Right?
Maybe you should start with telling us to turn on the news, look at the state of the world, or our country, or the economy. Point out that a few moments of terror and agony could be a small price to pay in exchange for the sweet release of no longer having to worry about any of those things.
Organ donation saves lives. This organization was deregulated. I support stricter regulation of these groups. With that said, it seems like the victims here were being kept alive by life support and through the legal process they were being removed from life support to die. One guy was removed from life support but didn’t die and actually woke up. But you make it seem like they are just harvesting organs by killing people.
Of course organ donation saves lives.
Remember the headline? “U.S. moves to decertify group that tried to collect organs from living patients.” Sort of stands to reason that if you remove the organs from a living patient, that will kill them.
I wasn’t making it seem like anything. I was explaining to you why your own opening sentence is a poor choice to use given the headline of the article if you want to end with encouraging people to be organ donors.
If your goal is to encourage people to be organ donors despite this news story, you should probably downplay the number of people instead of starting out by saying it seems like it happens to dozens of patients. Even though dozens of people is a relatively small percentage of the whole, saying it that way makes it seem like it wasn’t just a one-off thing and it happens quite often.

Yeah, but if you went to flip-the-switch school for a quarter of your life, passed the flip-the-switch boards, adhere to (or in this case, only ‘be aware of’) a flip-the-switch ethics committee, and practice alongside dozens of flip-the-switch support staff, it’s a bit of a different scenario.
Doing all that and still flipping the switch inappropriately is NOT some split second decision making dilemma, it’s legit malice.
