Today was a big day for gamers as Valve just introduced three products: the Steam Controller, the Steam Machine, and the Steam Frame. When you add this alongside the Steam Deck, I think it’s safe to say that Valve is about to win the next console generation.

Well, that’s cool. It’d be a good reason to upgrade my headaet if inserts are available.

Ignore this, I was confused: (BTW, diopters adjust for near- and far-sightedness. Astigmatism is where the cornea or lens is irregularly shaped, and needs special lenses to correct, not just a focusing mechanism, which is all a diopter is.)

Yes that’s probably what they (and I) was getting at when they said that astigmatism is a big reason why they didn’t add diopters, since it would be a lot of work to only solve it for people without astigmatism.

I assumed anyone interested in glasses or lens inserts would know what I meant when I said astigmatism is the reason they didn’t do diopters 😅

I mainly have just astigmatism so diopters don’t do anything for me.

Ohhhhhh, I misunderstood what you were saying when you mentioned astigmatism in parentheses. I assumed you were referring to what diopters were for and not why they didn’t bother adding them.
