    I think the categories are decent but some abuse situations are not as obvious as that. You would think you would notice someone controlling who you could be friends with, but would you notice it if your partner consistently criticized your friends, or told you they had badmouthed you to them, or that they had said something that directly contradicted your values? Abusers can manipulate you into isolating yourself and then you don’t register that it was because of their influence.

    They might not call themselves the master of the castle or the boss, but their time is constantly considered more valuable than yours, and they will relentlessly use examples of times you got your way to be a reason they should get their way the next x times.

    This chart makes it sound like it’s obvious and easy to see, I’d like to see a version that uses verbiage that acknowledges how subtle and insidious it can be.

      That’s an excellent point. Things like “I just worry about you doing XXX” “I just love you so much I wanna spend all my time with you” are hard to name. Most perps are subtle at least part of the time
