I hope I never have to talk to my “brother” again, I don’t care if he changes, he made my life a living hell for long enough.
I totally support you on that. Him changing doesn’t change the past at all, and a living hell isn’t a small thing

this should be everywhere.
Yep I was pretty shocked I’ve only recently heard about it
Sounds like any given Sunday in my life. My wife has got some sort of mental illness. I love her, but I think I’m gonna be dying young in my 50’s or 60’s…not quite presidential. I hope you all enjoy your retirement, that beer is on me guys! And gals! And everyone else in the spectrum of genders.
is there a link to a resource for more on recognizing signs of domestic violence?
I’m composing a post for the next few days! In the meantime Women’s Aid have some good info

Hey mate had to delete your comment as it contains politics
I thought it was breast cancer awareness month. My job is making us all wear pink ribbons on our uniforms all month.
My mum is still with her abuser and will be forever I imagine. It’s hard to get someone to change when they’ve sunk so much cost in and are a little too old school.
I wish everyone in this situation a very good luck getting out.
That’s really hard to watch, it’s a sad and helpless position for you. It’s really difficult to get out when someone has sunk so much cost in, especially when the abusers has had years to build a cage round them. That’s the whole point of the control. I wish you and your mom peace
Not often talked about and often dismissed. https://www.respectvictoria.vic.gov.au/prevention/recognise-violence/family-violence-against-men
Welcome to WomensStuff! We are a trans inclusive women only community. Like your link says, men can be at risk predominantly from their dad, brother etc and rarely from a female partner. Women are disproportionately at risk. The whole thing is terribly wrong
