The goal is complete vilification. Then it’s “won’t someone please rid me of these troublesome Democrats”.

They are already vilified by Republicans, so it isn’t like they have anything to lose. If the Democrats cave, they will just be vilified by Democratic voters, too.

Yeah, you’re right, the average republican voter thinks that democrats are vile, hateful, literally evil people that want to end their way of life… but they also can’t point to something major is going to ruin their life in the next two months. Fuck with all those fools’ health insurances, and every other service that’s going to be sputtering in the gutter, and now you have the whole, “society is only [X] meals away from anarchy/revolution/chaos,” AND you have the army of fools ‘rising up’ pointed at your political enemies for the thing they’re now mad specifically about, rather than just generally.

It’s also just part of their general faux news schtick: repeat the same thing, over and over. In this case, it’s that democrats are the bad guys and at fault for everything. Can’t let up the propaganda stream, or the people might start having independent thoughts in those heads. Maybe those thoughts would be that the republicans aren’t on their side, or maybe that capitalism isn’t benefiting any of them… so better keep it up.

I mean, it feels like Repubilicans have gone too far on this one. It’s just becoming noise. No one believes the Republicans anymore. Someone neutral could ask, “If you want the Democrats to vote for it, what did you do to get their vote?” And the response would be, “Nothing.”

You and I wish. I am in a red area, and the only thing that has changed in the last 10 months is that some people who were sucking orange man’s virtually present dick are now also returning to saying that ‘politicans are bad,’ which is how they compartmentalize the pedophilia. Three guesses who they think are the pedophilic politicians.

They want/need more vilification. The further they vilify, the further they can go on things like project 2025.

Eg you can say they vilified the left 10 years ago, but 10 years ago they wouldn’t have gotten away with deploying the national guard. They get away with it now because of the last 10 years of vilifying even more. Now imagine what they’ll be able to do in the next 5 to 10 years.
