I’ve seen this a few times and I will never not downvote it as it’s completely the wrong sentiment to take to someone throwing literal rocks at you, no matter your size.
Someone causing you harm isn’t going to suddenly stop harming you because you’re taking the high road, no, they’re going to continue with it and get more brazen with it because you just let them get away with it.
Forgiveness, when undeserved, only leads to toxic and abusive relationships with toxic and abusive people.

Forgiveness is not for the sake of the offender but for that of the offended. It is not conditioned on the deservedness of the offender. Nor does it require declining to seek an end to the offense.
In its most basic form, forgiveness means to let go of resentment towards the offender. Resentment is like a cancer that eats away inside of you while doing nothing to the person who wronged you. Letting go of it is a good thing. Even if the offender doesn’t deserve it.

Generally, if you’re choosing violence your intent is to act before they react (or react before they act). If you’re close enough before they “clock” you getting hit/trying to fight off a bludgeoning weapon makes getting a gun out and firing rather improbable. “Everyone has a plan til they get punched in the face.”
No MAGA gun nut would ever allow you to get close to them with a bat.

Most people think they’re more vigilant than reality. You’re not approaching someone in a open field lol. Idk about a bat but at ~25ft someone with a knife is generally faster to stab/slash than the average person can draw, aim, and fire.
