Show me some whiskers! Cheek whiskers, eyebrow whiskers, the little whiskers on the backs of their front legs. Whiskers that are very l o o o n g and silly little stubby whiskers. White whiskers, black whiskers, those whiskers that are half and half. Does your kitty have all white whiskers except for one black one or vice versa? Has your idiot child ever learned a whisker-related lesson about candles? Do you collect whiskers when they shed? (Lemme see your collection!)
😺

Alaric’s whiskers are as pitch-black as the rest of him is, so they do not show up well in photos unless they happen to catch the sunlight or have a light background behind them. He was already an older boy when I adopted him, so I think if he ever did learn anything the hard way he did it long ago. Candles are just about the one thing he doesn’t sniff to investigate, fortunately. I think the worst experience he has given himself with his whiskers since I got him was the time that he woke me up because his whiskers tickled my nose. I wound up sneezing directly in the poor guy’s face
I have never thought to collect shed whiskers before. What do you do with them?
