IIRC, he suggested that these people and their actions are the products of a society where ‘survival of the fittest’ truisms are the norm; where violence and force are normalized and celebrated; and where people are totally lienated and deprived connection, identity, fulfillment, etc.
These conditions inform a rotten worldview of someone who hates and is hated by society, and these acts can be seen as a reactionary kind of lashing out (i.e., retaliation, taking power back) or a revolutionary ‘culling of the weak’ (i.e., killing more undesirables, gaining status in their fascist cults)
