Undermines the point of free healthcare. People are treated in priority order regardless. Medics have an obligation to help folk in need unless they’re DNR.

Yes, but I mean, some system like “self harm” would lower Your priority score, -2. Similar as alcohol overusing could make You problems with medical treatment for liver damage or smoking cigarettes would delay/cost lungs treatment.

You knew the risk of overusing these, be responsible now.

Obviously smoking cigarettes would NOT affect medical help in case of car accident, as not related.

ImHo it is ridiculous to overdrinking for many years and then expect to get liver transplant in priority over common citizen who got badly stabbed while robbed. (I’m no medic, unsure if You can be stabbed badly enough to require liver transplant, it’s just an example).

When they give organs they judge based on lifestyle factor and wouldn’t give a liver to an alcoholic over someone that isn’t.

However, when people get to choose, it can become quite arbitrary. Excuses not to treat.

Don’t get me wrong, if folk want to write themselves off, by all means, but let’s not Americanize healthcare that is free at the point of use.
