Because some day they will be an adult who needs to know how to do things like buy groceries and pump gas. Hell, a 16 year old can have a car and a job, but not be allowed to pay for anything?

Go to a branch and set the account up there. No reason they’d need your face. Bonus point of using a local bank: they have to worry about their customers doing a domestic terrorism on them if they fuck them over somehow. So they have more incentive to not do that.

Get a regular bank account
I feel like you don’t understand the meaning of the word “ever.”
Don’t know how this works in UK - In Poland there are other ways of signing into/registering in banking.
Have an adult handle the account. Simple as. They set it up and manage the account to ensure their kids privacy to as much of a degree as they can.
