I think i’ve only seen 5 episodes, but so far i’ve found it a bit bland. Hank is still great as Hank, but like any straight man in comedy he needs big characters to foil against, and that’s what i’ve found lacking so far. Bobby is older and has transitioned from comic relief to another straight man. Peggy hasn’t had much plot devoted to her yet. Dale and Bill have been pretty scarce. Less frequent characters like Kahn, Cotton, Luanne, and Mr Strickland haven’t been present at all.

It feels like a smaller more subdued show, and the Arlen community is less vibrant than it used to be. Maybe they had scheduling challenges with all the voice actors.

edit: watched the rest of the season and it is definitely better in letting some of the other characters shine. although i still feel like the show is suffering from bobby being older.

idunno, even if you set aside the characters done by passed voice actors there are still plenty of options, they are just not using them.

they could even create new characters but haven’t done much of that either. I was exceited to see Keith David in the first episode and thought he was going to be part of the inner circle, but he hasn’t even been in an episode since then.
