I mean, I’ve seen a Catholic school use the power religious institutions have in the modern West ever since Cold War Christianity spiraled out of control, to interrogate six year olds about supposedly being communists (which sounds hilarious in a fictional story or dramatized account, but isn’t very funny when you’re one of those six year olds and you’re sitting in the Main Office with a dozen other first graders, waiting your turn to see school administration for questioning), but interrogating an infant is a new one, even for McCarthy and the Un-American Activities Committee.
