All the Asian airlines I’ve ridden give you slippers when you get on tje plane, because wearing your shoes on a long flight is bad for your blood flow and can exacerbate the swelling you’re already going to get from sitting for that long. Long story short, yes, and so should you.

I feel that, for sure. I always make sure to shower right before leaving for the airport and wear loose fitting shoes to minimize sweat until I get on the plane. One time I even swapped socks mid flight just to be extra safe.

Yeah going across the oceans is when it’s really most important. It’s also important to get up and stretch and walk around every few hours too. My last flight home I got bumped to a different flight and got stuck in the middle seat for 14 hours, and so I didn’t really get up except to pee, and my feet hurt so bad afterwards, it was miserable. I usually just sleep 90% of the flight, wake up every few hours, wander around, brush my teeth, splash water on my face, do some light stretches in the aisle, and sit back down and go back to sleep. Get some funny looks, but it’s worth it to not feel like poo after.
