Whole food plant-based eating is indeed healthy, and I have had this way nearly a decade, though I have been vegan longer. I notice the benefits. Animal agriculture is contributing more to problems in the world including loss of environments and extinctions of species. Why need animals kept abusively and slaughtered for what we would still have from them?
I think veganism is unfortunately a person’s decision, like sexuality or religion.
The benefits for themselves can be listed, but unfortunately they have to choose vegan lifestyle for themselves.
Hopefully veganism becomes even cheaper and becomes more appetising for the broader society than alternatives so that it isn’t just moral or ethical reasoning driving people to change.
Sexuality is a person’s decision? 🤨
Ok I realised now the mess I stepped in, ok no what I tried to mean, and I apologise for my ignorance, sexuality, I believe, is a spectrum and what I tried to mean it is for each individual to decide where they feel or know they fall on that spectrum. It is an evolving point and it is not set in stone.
But yeah you’re right, a person’s sexuality is not a choice like veganism.
Food is everbody’s personal choice
How can something that others literally gave their lives for be a personal choice? Food nowadays is globally produced and distributed and affects - like most of our decisions - many more parties and beings, such as animals and our entire ecosystem. The taste of of music you have is a personal choice. The freedom to choose what we consume though, should not limit the freedom of others. Be it through animal exploitation, destruction of ecosystems, inhumane working conditions in the animal industry, zoonoses and pandemics, multidrug resistant pathogens, waste of resources and further consequences, that lead others to suffer.
Well some people choose vegan for moral reasons, some choose vegan for social reasons but soon enough most will be forced into being vegan for economic reasons if they haven’t been already. Wages are collapsing and prices are rising.
God that’s a good point.
