Yeah discussing it this afternoon after voting, my Lebanese friend said they put them 2nd just below Greens, and the rest of the group was like “oh aren’t they racists??” just from the name alone. Then again the group was mostly leftist Labor so expecting them to read might have been too much.
They were one of two parties to be openly anti Israel running in our electorate, Greens and Australia’s Voice.
Huh, I didn’t know Greens were anti-Israel, I probably would’ve voted them higher if I had known that. Though yeah, a lot of minor parties in this country really struggle with messaging, probably why so many independents always run rather than join a minor party.
Thats more of a translation issue. Because Bayrische Volkspartei is clearly not a communist party. Volk has a populist conjunction true, the direct translation would be folk instead of people’s though.

My local Greens member was, but it’s not uniform across the party. He’s left for the Greens though.
Always frustrating with the greens, half of them are basically socialist in everything but name, and the other half are basically eco-fascists.

the left parties presumably evolved out of the “worker’s rights but not for aborigines, pacific islanders and chinese!” type of labour activists?
