          You can assign them manually but to this day, they are the last to get used when auto-mounting drives.

          Is a floppy drive different form the floppy disk? Cause i remember floppy disks, vaguely.

            The drive runs the disk in my mind but I don’t know the classroom right answer. My thought process on the matter is you insert the floppy disk into the floppy disk drive then your computer mounts it. Your hard drive runs your hard disk. Drives run disks. shrug

      Cuz mass storage was a quirky extra, not something essential to your system, like your A: floppy drive was.
