Their legacy here is mostly Jamal Basha “السفاح”, literally “The Butcher”. My understanding is that in Turkey they’re looked back on as more of a modernizing reform movement.
It was only a matter of time with Cenk in particular. He liked populism without looking into any theory and that tends to lead people down a far-right path with how heavily pushed that perspective is. That’s why a Bernie-Trump pipeline exists in the first place.
