However more centralized powers have historically led to war within Europe. Think about World war I and II, the Balkan wars, the Prussian wars, Napoleonic wars, the Seven years war, war of the Spanish succession and so on. This is the reason the EU is set up the way it is, all countries can influence decisions and there’s no dominant power overruling others. So it’s a bit of a double edged sword. Centralization helps to suppress cultural differences but doesn’t solve them.

More accurately, there has never been a EU law that forced people to create cookie banners.
The EU law required websites to have the users’ consent to use personal data and tracking. The law never even mentioned the word “banner” but this is what the industry chose as a solution.
Furthermore consent is not needed for functional cookies. So all websites that enforce cookie banners upon users do really use tracking/data sharing or their partners (such as Google Analytics) do.

Microsoft is a US company but Xbox is an imported product, being manufactured in China. Therefore it was subject to the tariffs.
Let me ask you a question.
Say you export bananas to the European Union. Then the people in the EU vote to prioritize Europe above every other country (MEGA) and thanks to them you suddenly have to pay import tariffs on every banana. You are forced to raise sales prices to compensate which reduces the number of sales and lowers your turnover. Now it turns out the tariffs were unlawful and you get money back from the EU. Would you feel that that money belongs to the people in the EU?
Well not to disagree with you, but this is how tariffs are supposed to work. They make foreign products more expensive so consumers pick a US product instead.
The price is the price and everyone is free not to buy a luxury product like a PlayStation. If you did buy it after all, that means you agreed to the price.

It has declined over the years but after Covid, crime levels slowly increased again year on year. Crime levels are higher than e.g. Amsterdam, Paris or Berlin.
