Capitalism has always been like this to one degree or another. Maybe its inherent cruelty is affecting more people than it ever has, but it has always been cruel to poor and marginalized groups.

Capitalism only cares about money.

Resistance at even the smallest level matters.

Hostile infrastructure, intended to heap misery upon the most miserable among us. We punish people who should be helped, and help people who should be punished. What a backwards world.
If you use Maps, they already know.

Narcissists always have to make everything about themselves.

Republicans scream “freedom” louder than anyone, but they prove consistently that it’s just a slogan to them. Texas has outlawed gambling, marijuana, reproductive healthcare, gay marriage, and effectively outlawed porn. And they’re all up in the business of trans and gay folks. And they shove their religion down your throat every chance they get. I don’t think they understand the meaning of freedom.
I played Evergrace at my cousin’s house. I have such fond and vivid memories from that game. But when I went back to play it as an adult, I realized that it’s kind of terrible.

No compromises with fascists.

Basically all the time.

UBI is a concession to capitalists. It pacifies the working class while maintaining the system that oppresses us. At best, it’s a band aid. We need full blown socialism. Not “Democratic socialism”, real socialism, in which the workers own and control the means of production. That is the only path to working class liberation.
As a newb, could you please help me understand why you prefer Debian to Ubuntu?

It is policing though. That’s what police are trained to do. They are trained to see us not as humans, but as threats.
I agree. But also, they’re all capitalists. Even the so-called Democratic socialists are capitalists.
Well put. I understand dismissing the OP as being just another “just be happy” post, but I’ve learned from experience that even a slight change in perspective and mindset can make a world of difference. Will it make all your problems go away? Nope. Can it equip you to manage your problems a little better? Absolutely. Therapy exists for a reason.
Yeah, radical left is more like: Seize the means of production! Abolish capitalism! Abolish patriarchy! Abolish the state!
What’s labelled as radical left in the OP is just bare minimum, common sense policies that any marginally sane person should want.

It pains me to say it, but I don’t watch any new AVGN episodes. James has gotten into that phase where he’s just a parody of himself now. In the old episodes, it seems like he GENUINELY gets angry at the games, but nowadays it’s very clear that he’s acting. His crude humor and angry rants just come off as obligatory and contrived now. The old episodes had a VIBE to them, like you’re in a dark basement playing games with a weird nerd. The new episodes just feel like a polished, scripted show. And I know James has to make money, but seeing the Nerd do an ad read is just too jarring. I hate it.
I 100% agree. But also, some folks have little choice as it’s the only path they have out of poverty. Could be their only chance for a decent education too.
Edit: I understand the backlash I’m getting. But I also realize that poverty produces desperation, and desperation can push people to extreme decisions. Easy for me to say “don’t ever join under any circumstances” when I’m not the one suffering in extreme poverty.
