Lol, no. Government and federal tech jobs aren’t nearly that desirable. All the Feds are doing at this point is shrinking their hiring pool for a stupid bureaucratic reason.
The federal government has acknowledged they’re limiting their hiring pool and has started slowly rolling back some of their requirements.
The more people that try to avoid these kinds of jobs, the sooner someone in power will change the rules.
It’s so much more that that. The vast majority of jobs that are worth a shit drug test, by and large the ones that don’t choose not to because they’re desperate to exploit people that come to work for them.
Source: pretty much ruined my life sticking to shit blue collar jobs that didn’t drug test. Every other professional job wanted to drug test even if it was just to sit at a desk and never even come remotely close to heavy machinery.
I fucking loathe the fact that this is a thing. Jonny Jackass can go home and drink himself stupid, do all sorts of terrible shit, come in with a hangover and be fine. I smoke once 2 weeks ago on MY time and get fired after a drug test.
I find it kind of the opposite. Since I got out of blue collar shift work, tech support, restaurants, etc, I haven’t been drug tested once.
That said, if you want to go to jobs that piss test and can’t or won’t stop smoking for long enough to pass, you can get fetish urine and use it to pass. I’ve used it at least five times myself, and never failed. It even comes with a temp sensor and hand warmer to keep it at body temp.
