We truly live in a dystopian world.

Most peoples only option for pet care, is the same company that makes M&M’s.

The nightmare of a dystopian system. Recently it was discovered that an elementary school was built on an old heavy metal processing site, and the kids had 1000x the safe limits of lead exposure. But parents only found this out when they went to hospitals far away, because the local government told the local hospitals to lie about the exposure levels.

That kind of thing happens all the time in China.

No, that’s very different. That’s a mega corporation doing horrible things, and they can and will get sued and charged over it.

My example was the actual Chinese government hiding the issue. And this happens all the time in China. There are entire villages where more than half the population has cancer due to contaminated ground water. And the other residents who don’t have cancer can’t do anything because they don’t have any money to deal with it.

          https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/jun/04/china-villages-cancer-deaths

          https://qz.com/55928/china-now-has-up-to-400-cancer-villages-and-the-government-only-just-admitted-it

This is just the tip of the iceberg with China. Remember, all their news agencies are state controlled and they censor everything coming out of there. There’s no “free press” to report on these kinds of issues. The rest of the world only hears about it when it becomes too big to control.

Another example is kidnapping of children. It’s a big issue in China and we’re only just starting to hear about it because it’s become such a problem. Same thing with the “revenge against society” attacks.

My point is that China is already the dystopia you worry about.

          Edit: autocorrect

If your point is that “bad things happen in the US also”, then you’re arguing in bad faith. Bad things happen everywhere. Bad people exist everywhere.

Hell, one of the links you shared is from a legal news site reporting on the lawsuit of the issue!

That can’t even happen in China.

I don’t know if you are a straw man or xenophobic. Everyone of those points I made were not settled. The U.S. government was not held responsible in any case. They lied and hid stuff until local journalist uncovered or a whistleblower exposed what ws happening.

In China they do the samething but in a different manner. The information still gets out, if not then you wouldn’t know about it. That, or you are making shit up (xenophobic)?

Believe whatever you want. I’ve been to China and have Chinese family members (born and raised in China). The West and China are polar opposites.

But like I said, believe whatever you want. Go ahead and move there if you like.

To be clear, I’m not American. I think the USA is amongst the most messed up countries in the world. And yes, I’ve been there many times, and I also have extended family from there. I’d want to live in the USA as much as I’d want to live in China.
