    Inspired by their buffoonery (and just 'cause it sounds like it should be), I propose that we should appropriate the word Nimitz for an insult the way Nimrod was. Perhaps directed at the “they’re gonna find out why USA doesn’t have healthcare” folk soviet-hmm

    US aircraft carriers will be easy targets if an actual war takes place around Taiwan. China has plenty of hyper sonic aircraft carrier killer missiles and as we’ve seen in the last Iran-Israel war, you might be able to intercept some of these missiles, but just a few getting through will sink the carrier along with all the jets and crew.

      I think in the last 10 years or so aircraft carries have stopped being super good.

      They were definitely top tier before then, but now missiles, drones, etc are too good.

      I think future warfare will be primarily countries lobbing drones and missiles at each other
